‘New Year Resolutions - pah!’
So, we prepared frantically and diligently for Christmas, or perhaps we simply stumbled through December, did our shopping online, braved the crowds as Christmas Eve approached and then finally collapsed relieved into the nearest armchair once the feast was eaten and the wrapping paper ripped from the presents.
‘Why Bother De-Cluttering?’
Why bother de-cluttering? Maybe de-cluttering is like dusting? You might have heard the saying: “After 5 years it doesn’t get any worse!” Well, I’m sorry to break it to you but I don’t think that’s quite true.
‘Kitchens are for cooking in’
Kitchens are for cooking in. This is a novel idea, I know, especially these days when much of family life happens in and around the kitchen. How much of the work surface is actually available for spontaneous culinary creation? Half of it?
‘What is it about Attics?’
What is it about Attics? They seem to be calling out to me! This month I have helped a number of clients de-clutter and re-organise the attic. I’ve even sneaked a peak at ours... it’ll have to wait!
‘Property Preparation’
Usually winter means staying in and hibernating by the fire with a good book and a bar of chocolate, but this year the winter weather has kept me indoors with time and energy to work on a new service to add to the Welcome Space portfolio:
‘Frozen Assets’
Ok, it’s finally happened, I feel like a grown-up!. I’ve just caught myself menu planning for the next two weeks!. And the reason for this apparent over-the-top organisation?
‘Making Space for Winter’
It’s time to put away the summer frocks and strappy sandals to make space for cosy winter woollies. This is a great opportunity for a bit of a sort-out, so here are some tips to help make the most of it.
‘Taking Control’
Sometimes there seems to be just so much clutter and stuff everywhere that it’s difficult to know where to start! So, take a step back, breathe . . . , and consider the following:
‘School’s Out!’
Well, that’s it, school’s out for the summer! Your life, albeit temporarily, is not quite your own, as you now have to consider ‘what about the kids?’ when you plan your day and week.
‘That Pile of Papers and Stuff’
Now I know why it’s called ‘Flaming June’! Gorgeous isn’t it?! And isn’t it funny how a little sunshine seems to illuminate the clutter that you’ve managed to ignore so successfully?.
‘Time to Make Life Easier’
It may take an hour or two to sort the shed but the reward is being able to get that sun-lounger out at a moment’s notice and enjoy some ‘me-time’ easily. How and why to sort those potential ‘black holes’.
‘Rocks First’!
Have trouble fitting everything into your busy week? Try this simple method to ensure that what you want to have happen, actually does!
‘A Quart into a Pint Pot Does Not Go!’
What to do when hiding the stuff behind the door no longer works. How to tackle encroaching clutter so that it becomes manageable and stays that way.
